I became involved in youth football in 1994 when my son began playing football and have coached and managed teams every year since. I have coached various teams to league titles, cup finals, mid table and relegation. I never ceased to be amazed that whatever has happened give the kids a ball 5 or 10 minutes later and they will enthusiastically be kicking it around.
I have completed the old Junior Team Managers Course (now level 1) the FA Certificate (now level 2) and am very proud to hold the UEFA B level 3 coaching licence.
It is my belief that all children who want to play football should be given the opportunity to do so and that they should be allowed to develop at the pace which is right for them. As a coach it is my responsibility to ensure children have fun, enjoyment and variety at coaching session. Plus they must be allowed to play in matches without being brow-beaten. A big priority for me is to promote fair play and respect of other teams and officials.
In 2007 I became chairman of the club a position I give my utmost too, as chairman my main aim is to have a Chartered Status Club with a reputation for fair play, honesty and integrity. This can only be achieved with great people, and our committee and managers are tremendous.
At Hartley, we believe that the best coaching for your children is provided by experienced, qualified professionals. That's why we use a mixture of local coaches to provide tailored sessions for each age group. We work with local companies such as Kick Kent, Brazilian Kickers and semi-professional team coaches to structure skills, teamwork and fitness training. We use a huge number of recommended small sided games for the youger children right up to advanced techniques for some of our older members.
All of our coaches are experienced, F.A. qualified football coaches, C.R.B. checked and First Aid trained.
I became involved in junior football in late 1980s with 3 teams playing in the Mercury league where I was club secretary. I also played to an average standard in London and Kent border leagues. I became involved with Hartley De Sales FC a few years ago with my sons playing for some of the Hartley teams, and felt that I might be able to give some help to the younger sides, becoming mentor to the u7s. In the past two years, I have created our football academy which provides a programme of junior development football at HDSFC. This has been very successful and we now train over 25 children at under 7's and below, entering our first under 7's team into the Invicta friendly league in 2011/12.
Outside of football I'm a project manager in construction for Masterson Holdings Ltd. My hobby is restoration of vintage motor scooters(lambrettas).
I became involved with Hartley De Sales during 2010 when my son started playing for the first time. Having watched from the side lines at U7 level I was happy to get more involved as the team progressed forward to U8’s level. I have always taken a keen interest in football and am a lifelong supporter of the Hammers. My aim for this team is for everyone involved to get as much enjoyment as I did from playing the game with an equal access to all ethos.
Outside of football I am a director of Clean Room Construction Ltd who provide close controlled environments such as those utilised in the pharmaceutical and electronic sectors. My other interests include golf, fishing and cycling.
I became involved with Hartley de sales last season 2010/2011 with my son playing for the u8s. I felt that I could help to inspire the team and offered to be manager. I have played at reasonable level in the past, and my aim for the development of the youth team is for the individuals to express themselves and develop their skills at their own pace.
Outside of football I'm a keen golfer, and am currently working for Balfour Beatty at the imperial war museum as a Project Manager.
I became involved at Hartley De Sales towards the end of the 2008/2009 season. A lover of all things football, including being a lifelong Man City fan, I played at most age groups to a largely mediocre level, including 2 years running an adult Sunday side. My ambition is to see the very junior teams develop into excellent technical players with a great attitude towards teamwork and enjoyment of the game. I also run the web site for Hartley De Sales FC.
Outside of football, I am a co-founder and director of Juriba Limited, an IT company, and I enjoy running, cycling and golf.
I became involved in junior football in in around 2005 when my son started to play. I became involved with HDSFC last year and felt that I might be able to give some help to the team. In the past I have played as a school boy myself and continue to play at a ripe old age through weekly work friendlies.
Outside of football I'm a project manager in avionics for BAE Systems (that's electronic systems for aeroplanes), in the spare time I do have I play football, do a little running / gym work and play golf (badly) .
My son initially commenced training with Hartley de Sales in 2006 in the Saturday morning soccer skills. I was impressed by the style of the football club and its coaches where the emphasis was on developing the player rather than “winning at all costs”. Following the 2007-08 season I was approached to assist Tim Redshaw with running what was then the Under 10s team for 2008-09 and this year have reversed roles with Tim as we made the step up to 11 a side. My own football CV is devoid of any notable achievements I only ever played at Sunday League level and have combined that with a lifelong support for a local non league team. That said I recently qualified as a level 1 Junior FA Coach so hopefully occasionally I will be able to give the team some inspirational guidance.
My ambition for the team is that all the players look forward to playing on a Sunday and will look back on their time with club with a great deal of happiness, hopefully achieving some successes along the way
Outside of football I am the Owner Director of TaxAssist Accountants an accountancy practice specialising in the tax and accounting requirements for small businesses and the self employed.
I have always played football, ever since I could walk and continued to do so up until a knee injury forced me to hang up my boots. Because football has played a huge part in my life, it seemed that the only natural progression was to coach football. I had several successful years running a mens team in Essex. Having left that team when my daughter arrived, I gradually got back into coaching with Hartley when my boys joined to play.
Outside of football, I am a keen amateur film maker and screenwriter.
I became involved with Hartley De Sales in 2008 when my boys joined their respective football teams. Before that I played for a number of teams including the Dartford River Crossing 5 a side team. My involvement with Hartley grew in 2011 when the U15 manager left, with a little trepidation; having never managed a team before, I filled the position. Any uncertainties were put aside when Sean and Dave joined as trainers. Along with a fantastic bunch of players, Sean and Dave’s enthusiasm has completed the squad.
Outside football I work as an IP network engineer, have a keen interest in amateur astronomy and run my own Rotax Max 125cc Kart that myself and the boy’s race.
I became involved in the under 10's team in 2004 and have been with the club ever since. I've taken my current team through the age groups from under 11's through to the current under 18's squad. I'm an Arsenal supporter and try to get up to the Emirates as much as possible. I am also the club welfare officer at Hartley De Sales, which means that I'm the first port of call for children with issues on a range of items such as bullying, home problems and the like.
Outside of football, I am a keen DIY enthusiast and motor mechanic.
